Cluster of cases of pneumonia were reported from Wuhan (Hubei, China), which led to the identification of novel coronavirus coronated as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The World Health Organization (WHO) issued the first technical guidance online with advice to all countries on how to detect, test, and manage potential cases of disease named as coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) on January 10, 2020. The WHO then declared it a public health emergency of international concern on January 30, 2020 and a pandemic on March 11, 2020, by which time the infection had already spread to 114 countries. Currently, the pandemic has widely spread to all the continents and 230 countries with a total of approximately 16.3 million infected and 0.65 million dead as on July 26, 2020. India has reported around 1.4 million cases and approximately 32,800 deaths on the same date.
